Meet Dr. Anne Clifford, PT

I'm a physical therapist, wife, and mother of three kids.  I have a passion for working with patients by empowering them to improve their quality of life through movement, strength, and coordination.  In 2020, I decided the best way to reach my patients was to no longer be expected to treat multiple patients at a time or be restricted by the limitations of insurance companies.  I enjoy being able to take the time to provide personalized care that patients expect, and I believe this is the most optimal way they can achieve their desired outcomes.

I became interested in becoming a PT after experiencing injuries as a college athlete playing D1 volleyball.  I've felt the mental and physical struggles that come from feeling your body being defeated and working to fight back from injury.  This compelled me to pursue a career where I can work alongside patients on their journey to recovery.

I graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 2006 with a B.S. in Biology and continued onto the University of Indianapolis where I graduated with my Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2009.  I have been treating patients in the Michiana area ever since.

I married my husband, Chris, in 2007 and after PT school he convinced this Ohio native to settle in his hometown of South Bend, IN.  We have 3 children (Mason, Kylie, and Reese) who are busy playing every sport they can get their hands on.  This has led me to being a proud hockey mom.

I enjoy playing recreational volleyball, taking pictures of my kids, and sipping a coffee with far too much creamer.  I'm excited to embark on this adventure with you.

FAQ

What is a mobile PT practice?
A mobile practice means I come to you (home, gym, office, etc.), but qualifies as outpatient therapy due to not having to meet the "homebound" requirements of home care therapy.  You get the convenience of not having to go out of your way to attend therapy while also getting focused 1:1 attention to your care.

Do you take my insurance?
Clifford Physical Therapy is considered an out-of-network (OON) practice.  This means payment is accepted up front and upon request you will be provided a detailed invoice called a "superbill" with instructions on how to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  This allows for you to receive the care you deserve without the restrictions from insurance companies dictating your care and no surprise bills months down the road after traditional insurance processing.  Insurance companies may reimburse you at different rates, so it is best to contact them to understand your OON benefits.  Medicare clients may be seen for "wellness" visits, but are unable to be seen for medically necessary physical therapy sessions under OON services.

What is your treatment boundary?
I serve north-central Indiana and SW Michigan, approximately 1 hour from South Bend, IN.  I am happy to travel farther, but it may incur an additional travel fee.  Please reach out to determine if your location is within my area.

What is a wellness visit?
Wellness visits are exercise progression and education focused sessions that are an extension of rehabilitation (either preventative or maintenance in nature).  The care will feel similar to physical therapy, but without the specific treatment of an injury.  Wellness visits are not reimbursed by insurances and do not receive a "superbill".  Medicare clients may received wellness services as an out-of-pocket expense.

What type of payments do you accept?
Payment may be in the form of debit/credit card, FSA, or HSA.  All payments are due day of service, unless a prepaid plan has been purchased.  An invoice will be provided upon payment.
